COMMISSIONED ARTWORK
Commissions and Artistic Vision
Jennifer continues to accept commissions that align with her artistic vision, offering patrons the opportunity to own a piece of her evocative and thought-provoking art. Each commission is approached with the same dedication to storytelling and emotional depth that defines her existing body of work.
“Jennifer Shea is not just a painter; she is a storyteller who uses her canvas as a stage for exploring the depths of human experience. Her art is a testament to the power of imagination and the beauty found in the interplay between the seen and unseen.”
BLUE NOTE | 2024
18 x 24
Mixed Media Oil on Canvas
A commissioned painting of my client’s favorite musician, Bill Evans performing at the Monterey Jazz Festival, 1961.
Bill Evans’s jazz piano style was unique and influential. He used impressionist harmony, a delicate tone and gave a modern interpretation to traditional jazz. I tried to capture that in the bright acrylic and soft pastel colors, and the unusual way the light hits his skin.
Begonia’s Paradise Diptych
2023
30 x 40
Mixed Media Oils on Canvas
These two paintings were commissioned by a sweet lady in Wisconsin who had recently lost her mom at 102! The video below describes the inspiration and the painting process.
“Jennifer truly listened to our ideas and embraced our project with heart and soul. We could not be happier with the finished art pieces. In fact, we were so pleased that we are in the midst of designing an additional piece of art to be placed in our dining room. The entire process from start to finish was so personal and comforting, as Jennifer worked with us to create magnificent art pieces to honor my mom’s memory. My husband and I wholeheartedly recommend Jennifer Shea Art and Design.”
THREE PINES
36 x 48
Oil on Canvas
This commission was inspired by my client’s favorite book series by Louise Penny. This quote was very meaningful for my client and where I drew my inspiration:
“Three Pines was not on any map and was only ever found by people who had lost their way. They’d crest the hill and stop, looking in wonderment across the top of the forest, to the Green Mountains of Vermont, beyond the borders of Quebec…In the center, three immense pine trees toward skyward. Like a beacon. A signal. A sign. You are safe and you are home.”
The Wind Remembers Her Name
30 x 40
Mixed Media Oil on Canvas
Commissioned for the Unbridled Art Auction benefiting Dove Creek Equine Rescue in 2025.
This painting was inspired by my memories of the horses running free at Dove Creek.
“A white horse bursts into motion, her mane swept back. Soft, fluid strokes of icy blue, ghost-white, and golden warmth create a dreamlike creature suspended between sky and earth.
Her eyes, deep and dark, carry a quiet history. Once rescued from hardship, she now charges into her transformation. No landscape or tether is visible—only movement and reborn strength.
The background fades into a warm haze, allowing her to glow from within the canvas. She is free in both body and spirit.
This painting captures a moment of return—a story of healing and renewal.”
